We are all connected,
we are all part of the nature,
and we share in being-in-the-nation.

Social-Emotional Development Research Group

Social-Emotional Development Research Group (SED-RG) at McGill University is directed by Dr. Chiaki Konishi, and includes graduate and undergraduate students, local, national, and international collaborators. Chiyoto’s life message aligns with how we pursue our research and practice: connectedness is key. By valuing the importance of connectedness, our research group aims to empower people to take action for promoting caring learning environments, and to nurture healthy growth of children and youth through evidence-based research and practice, especially regarding social-emotional learning (SEL) and development. Connectedness in our research and practice includes peer relationships, student-teacher relationships, child-parent attachment, non-parental adult relationships, and person-environment relationships, among others.
